My,high school….Crater High school in Central Point,Oregon, is playing in their division for the state Championship, it would be their first in the entire history of the school.
In 1962–1965, I played there, we have seen the team this year evolve into a “TEAM”….that word is the key to where they find themselves today. THE COACH…Randy Waite, is the other key to where they are today at 5 pm.
Ok, he has great people that assist him…..but the coach at the top, must examine each player…each position, and the mindset of the player to feed just the right amount of education of the position they will play, and again seek the key to make that young man in the position to believe he cannot be beat by anyone he finds against him….THEN MOLD THE TEAM TO PLAY TOGETHER….I, played myself, later on I coached for 6 yrs the so much fun and rewards in the POP WARNER league, so I learned as well….and have observed this man, and what he has molded to the word again…”A,TEAM…50 yrs past today…Craters players will take from the football field into life….what it will take to be a stronger person…or a team that no one wants to face…because they will never give up without a fight.
