TRYOUT TIMES FOR WINTER SPORTS BEGINNING MONDAY NOV 13TH
Congratulations to our Crater Cross Country teams who just returned from the 5A State Championships! Our boys team captured their third straight state title thanks to a 1st place finish by junior Tayvon Kitchen (15:26.2) and a 2nd place finish by junior Josiah Tostenson (15:32.2)! This is Tayvon’s first cross country state championship title which comes just over a week after being named Boys District Champion.
Our girls cross country team also had a very impressive showing finishing second by only 2 points behind Summit! Lindsey Siebert was 3rd with a time of 18:24.9 and Emma West was hot on her heels in 4th with a time of 18:32.3! Thank you to our awesome Central Point community for all the support you showed our teams when they arrived home!!!!
Congratulations to our Crater Cheer team who competed this past weekend. Jessalyn Magerle was named to the OCCA 5A All State Team. Roxie Wells and Kaiya Billings were both finalists for the 5A team. Preston Schmidt was a finalist for the male All State team which is combined across all classifications and finished in the top 10.

Congratulations to Crater Volleyball for finishing the season #2 in the league and #3 in the state for 5A! We will be hosting the 1st Round State Playoff Game Saturday Oct 28th, 2023 at Crater High School vs. Centennial. Game is at 3:00 pm, gates open at 2:00 pm.

Come join Crater’s first ever competitive dance team! We’re seeking dedicated, enthusiastic, and talented dancers who can bring their energy and creativity to our team. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or new to dance, we welcome all skill levels to try out. Tryouts will be held in the Student Center on Monday September 25th at 6:30pm. Wear tennis shoes, athletic clothes, and bring a water bottle. Go to the athletic office for more info or to sign up for tryouts! A participation permit and current sports physical must be on file in the athletic office to be cleared for tryouts.
Fall sports begin Monday August 14th. Athletes must have a participation permit and a current OSAA sports physical on file in the Athletic Office in order to attend tryouts. Fall sports include football, volleyball, boys soccer, girls soccer, cross country and cheer. Below are some options for obtaining a sports physical and forms can be obtained by clicking “Athletic Forms” on the right side of this page.
Congratulations to our Crater varsity softball team for winning the League Championship! The girls completed an undefeated season in league play (18-0) and are going into the State Playoffs ranked #7 in the State.
Crater beats #10 Centennial at home on 5/23 (7-3) in the OSAA 5A 1st Round State Playoff game advancing them to the Quarterfinals. They will play Bend at Bend High School on Friday 5/26 at 4:30 pm. Adults are $10 and Students are $6.

Congratulations to our Track & Field Team! Boys won District and our team won Coed. Crater had 12 District Champions and 21 State Qualifiers. They’ll be heading to State at University of Oregon’s Hayward Field Friday 5/26 – Sat 5/27.
Congratulations to our very own David Heard as he was awarded the Oregon Athletic Director’s Association “Athletic Director of the Year for 5A AND State Athletic Director of the Year 2023 for 3A, 4A & 5A!” As many of you know, David has been an instrumental force in D6 for many years. As coach, principal, AD and teacher, he has made a substantial impact on students and staff during his tenure with us. Additionally, his influence across the state has improved athletic programs for the region and opened up many opportunities for kids. It is a joy to see David acknowledged for his sincere dedication, ongoing perseverance and positive influence in education.
